Road safety audit, traffic data collection, analysis, junction design, vehicular movement tracking simulation, tactical urbanism operations plan
The project focused on developing tactical urbanism-based junction improvement strategies to enhance road safety, traffic operations, and pedestrian accessibility for two junctions in Bengaluru. The assignment involved analysing traffic movement patterns, conflict points, pedestrian behaviour, and existing street conditions to identify key safety and operational challenges at selected intersections.
The scope included preparation of low-cost, quick-implementation junction redesign concepts using tactical urbanism principles such as carriageway reorganisation, pedestrian crossing improvements, traffic calming measures, visibility enhancement, safer turning radii, and temporary street interventions.
The project aimed to demonstrate scalable and people-centric street design approaches that improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists while supporting efficient junction operations and better public realm quality.
