The project involved the preparation of comprehensive end-to-end masterplans for urban and rural planning areas in Chhattisgarh for the horizon year 2041. The scope focused on developing integrated spatial planning frameworks aligned with URDPFI guidelines, addressing long-term growth, regional connectivity, and sustainable development objectives.
The assignment included demographic and economic projections, existing situation assessment, land use analysis, and preparation of future land use strategies for planned urban expansion and rural development. Detailed mobility and accessibility studies were undertaken to understand travel patterns, regional movement corridors, circulation systems, and last-mile connectivity requirements.
The mobility planning component covered road hierarchy planning, circulation pattern analysis, public transport integration, non-motorised transport considerations, and identification of key transport infrastructure requirements to support future growth. Infrastructure planning included assessment and proposal of water supply, sewerage, drainage, solid waste management, social infrastructure, and public amenities in line with projected population demand.
